Interview with Ebony – pizza lover and everybody’s friend

Ebony the dog.

What’s your favourite pizza topping?
Woof woof woof woof woof, pizza crusts because that’s all I get. I think, given the chance, I’d actually enjoy a whole pizza.

What do you want to be doing in 5 years?
Hanging around a pizza oven, waiting for my vegan pizza with the works.

What’s one of your earliest memories?
Stitchie.

If you could pick one thing you’d change in the world, what would it be?
For the pats to never stop.

What’s your most public secret?
I’m everybody’s friend, especially if you’re feeling down.

Do you think climate change is real?
Yes.

What’s the best present you’ve ever given?
A wag of a tail, a nudge of a nose and a lick of the ear. Just ask Stitch.

What’s the best present you’ve been given?
Squeaky toys, almonds and blueberries.

What was your first job?
The same job I have now. I’ve only had the one job and that’s being Ebony. It takes a lot of work and not everybody could do it.

How are you going to celebrate new year?
Waiting for my humans to take their cup of tea to bed.

What’s your favourite Tasmanian animal?
The Old Beach Berries magpies, the three of them.

What’s it like working in the horticultural industry in Tasmania?
It’s a tough gig. Somebody has to stay inside in the air conditioning, check that there aren’t any gates left open, constantly wag the tail, welcome people as they drive up, and keep an eye on Charlie’s tractor up the back.

What’s something that you find annoying?
Lack of access to pizza.

What do you like to do with blueberries?
Ask for another one.

What are you buying your boss for Christmas?
I’m not allowed to go shopping because I don’t come back when I’m called.
